Wolfgang Puck's Story
Austrian-born Wolfgang Puck opened his first restaurant, Spago, on Hollywood's Sunset
Strip in 1982. Building on Spago's phenomenal success, he has become one of the
most influential chefs in North America with a restaurant empire that includes a
growing number of fine dining restaurants, catering venues and casual Bistro and
Express restaurants. The Wolfgang Puck name has become synonymous with culinary
passion and the very best in eating and dining well. He truly believes in using
the freshest, natural and organic ingredients.
His trademark dishes, coupled with his unmistakable panache and passion have revolutionized
the culinary industry. Wolfgang's first signature dish, gourmet pizza topped with
smoked salmon and caviar, put him and his famed Spago restaurant on the Los Angeles
food map. He is often credited with popularizing gourmet pizza with unique toppings.

creating innovative tastes using all-natural, organic ingredients and a first-of-its-kind
humane farm animal treatment program created in partnership with the Humane Society
of the United States.
Wolfgang has been honored with the prestigious James Beard Award for Outstanding
Chef of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year and Outstanding Service (Spago Beverly
Hills) and his Food Network show "Wolfgang Puck" won two Emmy awards.
